LUBBOCK, Texas — Tomy Rios, 41, was indicted by a Lubbock grand jury on Tuesday for the fatal April 2026 shooting that took the life of Jonathan Trevino, 37.
EverythingLubbock.com previously reported that officers were called to the 5900 block of Avenue P at approximately on April 17, at 10:36 p.m. for reports of shots fired.

When officers arrived on the scene, authorities located Trevino with a gunshot wound. Trevino was transported by EMS to University Medical Center was later pronounced deceased.

It was previously reported that, through the initial investigation, officers found that Trevino and Rios were inside a convenience store in the area, and both got into a verbal altercation outside of the business. Rios then took out a firearm, shot Trevino and fled the scene.
