The wait for Italian beef sandwiches, Chicago-style hot dogs and crinkle-cut cheese fries in the San Antonio area is officially coming to an end as Chicago-based chain Portillo’s has announced the opening date of its first San Antonio-area restaurant in Schertz.
A marketing coordinator for Portillo’s confirmed to MySA via email on Monday, May 18, that the chain is “currently planning our grand opening of Schertz for June 9th.”
The soon-to-open Portillo’s location in Schertz has been under construction for months as part of the growing Schertz Station development near I-35.
