Utah Weather: Sunshine and warmer conditions return to Utah this week

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Happy Tuesday, Utah! Our Tuesday afternoon will feature mostly sunny skies and lighter winds.

Today’s weather: Sunshine and below average

This will lead to daytime highs climbing into the low to mid-60s along the Wasatch Front and into the upper 70s for southwest Utah.

Tomorrow’s weather: Gradual warming trend

The sunshine returns for our Wednesday. High temperatures will surge back to near normal levels across the state. Daytime highs will warm into the lower 70s along the Wasatch Front, with highs jumping into the mid 80s for SW Utah.

The U.V. Index will be around eight on Wednesday afternoon, so make sure to have the sunscreen ready to go. S.P.F. 30+ is recommended, or you could burn in less than 20 minutes.

Looking ahead: Gradual warming trend

A quick-moving disturbance will drop down from the north, bringing the chance for isolated showers and rumbles to northern Utah on Thursday. The best locations to see this activity

Thursday afternoon will be for areas along and north of I-80 and east of I-15. Daytime highs should hold in the upper 60s to lower 70s for the Wasatch Front and into the upper 80s to near 90° for SW Utah.

This system clears out quickly on Thursday evening, with our Friday and Memorial Day weekend featuring a ridge of high pressure building over the area. This should bring mainly dry conditions and much warmer conditions back to the Beehive State…
