BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — A Birmingham woman suing the city over a proposed data center project says police stopped her in what her attorney described as retaliatory harassment just days after the case was filed.
In a letter dated May 18 and addressed to City Attorney Nicole S. King, attorney K. Mark Parnell said Madelyn Greene was pulled over Sunday, May 17, while driving home from church through Oxmoor Corporate Park, where the project is being built.
Parnell said Greene was not speeding, was not driving erratically and had not committed any traffic violation. He said two Birmingham police officers stopped her without explaining why and left after Greene said she would record the encounter. No citation or warning was issued, the letter said…
