Ohio AG Dave Yost: 8 indicted in Medicaid fraud, elder theft schemes that cost victims over $542K

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost has announced indictments against eight people, including one from Cleveland and one from Akron, accused of stealing more than $542,000 from Medicaid and elderly nursing home residents in separate fraud and theft schemes across the state.

The indictments, filed this month in Franklin County, stem from investigations conducted by the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit within Yost’s office.

“Caregivers are meant to protect the vulnerable, not exploit them,” Yost said in a statement. “My office will never tolerate thieves who line their pockets at the expense of elderly, disabled and low-income Ohioans.”…
