Burglars Hid Cameras and Used Food Delivery Bags to Scout Homes, Officials Say

LOS ANGELES – Burglary crews are placing DoorDash bags on front porches, ringing doorbells to see who answers, then using hidden cameras and WiFi jammers to help target homes across Southern California, authorities said Wednesday.

Seven people believed to be tied to dozens of residential burglaries across the Southland have been arrested, officials said, as Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman, Sheriff Robert Luna, LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell and Ventura County Sheriff Jim Fryhoff warned of increasingly sophisticated theft crews operating across the region.
