Suspicious death investigation begins in Norman, OSBI says

NORMAN, Okla. (KFOR) – The Cleveland County Sheriff’s Department, alongside the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI), says an investigation is underway regarding a suspicious death.

According to authorities, deputies were called to the 200 block of South Reed Avenue on May 16, 2026, concerning an unresponsive individual. Deputies on the scene say an adult male was located deceased.

The individual was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, who identified the victim as 40-year-old James Brannon. The cause and manner of death have not been determined at this time.
