Another north Baldwin area seeks zoning as Stockton solar farm fight grows

MOBILE, Ala. (NBC 15) — BAY MINETTE, Ala. (NBC 15) — The push for zoning in north Baldwin County is now expanding beyond Planning District 3, where residents have been fighting a proposed $300 million solar farm near Stockton.

Documents obtained by NBC 15 show residents in another area of north Baldwin County are now asking the Baldwin County Commission to begin the process of creating a new zoning district for Baldwin County Planning District 2.

In a letter addressed to the commission, resident Kathy Tate wrote on behalf of “a group of concerned residents” requesting that the county initiate the zoning process for the area. The letter says residents believe zoning is necessary “to protect our property, our community, and our environment.”…
