Archbishop Mark Rivituso will receive the pallium from Pope Leo XIV during a Mass on Monday at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome, and the public is invited to watch via livestream.

Rivituso, who was installed as Archbishop of Mobile last September, will receive the pallium as a symbol of his ministry as metropolitan archbishop of the Archdiocese of Mobile. The presentation takes place during the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul.
The pallium is an ecclesiastical vestment made of lamb’s wool and worn over an archbishop’s shoulders. It is adorned with six black crosses and three pins, symbolizing the nails used in Jesus’ crucifixion.

Monday’s Mass will also mark Rivituso’s first meeting with Pope Leo XIV.
