Pedestrian struck and killed by train in Encinitas

ENCINITAS, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — A pedestrian was hit and killed by a train in northern San Diego County Thursday afternoon, and police are asking drivers to avoid the area.

San Diego Sheriff’s deputies responded after 1 p.m. on Thursday to reports of a train and pedestrian collision at D and E streets at South Coast Highway 101 in Encinitas.
