PARMA, Ohio — Tensions are rising in Parma after the city’s school board failed to secure enough votes to appoint a new member, leaving the decision in the hands of a probate judge.
The failed vote comes as the Parma City School District faces unusual circumstances, with one recent resignation and another board member currently deployed on active military duty.
During a meeting Thursday, the board voted 2-1 in favor of appointing a candidate, but the motion failed because it did not meet the required number of votes under Ohio law.
