Rainy conditions on Friday in the Piedmont Triad

PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — Scattered showers will make the morning commute wet, but most showers will taper off before lunchtime.

For most of the day, we’re expecting cloudy skies and patchy sprinkles.  Cooler temperatures are on the way with highs in the mid-60s. Winds will be steady, out of the northeast.  Showers return for the evening and overnight hours, so keep your umbrella close as you head out and about.  The chance of rain is 70%.

Saturday begins with showers across the Piedmont and morning lows near 60 degrees, and by afternoon, highs squeak into the upper-60s. A warm front to the south makes slow progress into the Piedmont but may be close enough to bring a few thunderstorms in by the afternoon and evening.  Once the front sweeps to our north on Sunday, highs jump into the upper-70s with a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms. By the end of the weekend, we could have 2″ to 3″ of rain in the area rain gauges…
