Holiday Travel Could Slow Drivers on I-39/90/94 in Columbia County

(STATEWIDE) More than 744,000 people are expected to travel Wisconsin roads over Memorial Day weekend, and drivers in southwest Wisconsin could see delays near several major highway construction zones, according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.

The biggest impacts closest to Dodge County are expected along the Interstate 39/90/94 corridor in Columbia County, where three lanes remain open in each direction on the Wisconsin River bridge south of Portage. Drivers should still expect lane shifts and reduced speed limits through the area.

In Dane County, I-39/90 through Madison remains open to three lanes in each direction, but reduced speed limits are in place. In Jefferson County, drivers are also being asked to slow down near the I-94 and Highway 26 interchange in Johnson Creek because of ongoing construction work…
