As the holiday weekend approaches, Memorial Day deals are rolling in, and there’s quite a few to choose from in Military City. Service members and civilians in San Antonio and the surrounding areas are able to cash in on freebies, discounts and admission all weekend — here’s where.
Dickey’s Barbecue Pit
According to the Krazy Coupon Lady, Dickey’s Barbecue Pit is offering $10 off orders of at least $50 when using the code MEMDAY85 online or in-app on May 25. The closest location to San Antonio is along Junction Highway in Kerrville, about an hour outside the city.
Fogo de Chão
Fogo de Chão is giving military veterans and active-duty service members 50 percent off a full or indulgent churrasco meal, plus 10 percent off for each of their guests through Memorial Day weekend. For pickup or delivery orders, the Brazilian steakhouse chain will add in free Saucy Legs on orders of $75 or more. There are two locations in San Antonio: one on the River Walk and another off Loop 1604 near La Cantera and The Rim.
Fazoli’s
From May 22 through May 27, guests at Fazoli’s can grab a free pizza with the purchase of any family meal (fettuccine alfredo and spaghetti with marinara or meat sauce alongside eight breadsticks). There’s only one location in San Antonio, which can be found off I-10 and North Foster Road on the city’s Eastside.
Firehouse Subs
Firehouse Subs is offering a buy one, get one 50 percent off deal on subs from Friday, May 21, until Memorial Day. There are 10 locations in San Antonio.
HTeaO
The Texas-based iced tea chain is offering two gallons of any tea for $12 from May 22 until May 24. To get the deal, order in-store or through the app. There are 10 locations in San Antonio and several more in surrounding areas like Gruene, Fredericksburg, Universal City, Helotes and more.
Joe’s Crab Shack
Active-duty military, National Guard members and veterans with parties of up to four people can grab a 15 percent discount at Joe’s Crab Shack on Memorial Day. The offer is good for dine-in only, and San Antonio’s sole location is on College Street along the River Walk.
Krispy Kreme
This deal isn’t specifically for Memorial Day, but who doesn’t love donuts? According to USA Today, Krispy Kreme customers can grab a dozen original glazed donuts for $2 with the purchase of any dozen or 16-count minis. The deal is available from May 22 to 25 and has a limit of two per in-store or drive-thru guest — and one per online guest using the code “BOGO2.” Find it at San Antonio’s four locations: SE Military Drive, Potranco Road, N Loop 1604 East, and off I-10 West.
Kona Grill
From May 22 until Memorial Day, veterans, active-duty personnel, reservists and first responders can order a free entree from a limited menu at Kona Grill (pad Thai, mac nut chicken, stir fry or penne) when they purchase an appetizer or starter. There are two Kona Grill restaurants in San Antonio: in the Landmark shopping center on Presidio Parkway and at North Star Mall.
Six Flags Fiesta Texas and Schlitterbahn
Don’t know what to do with the long weekend? Active and retired military service members, including Reserves and National Guard, will receive a free single-day pass to their park of choice at Six Flags Fiesta Texas or Schlitterbahn. The offer runs from May 22 to May 25, and those eligible can redeem their ticket at the front gate by presenting a valid military ID. Additional tickets must be purchased online in advance.
San Antonio Museum of Art
From May 16 until Labor Day, active-duty military, National Guard and Reserves have free admission to thousands of museums participating in the Blue Star Museums program. The program is a partnership between the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families and the Department of War, and four museums here in San Antonio participate. They are the San Antonio Museum of Art, the Briscoe Western Art Museum, Contemporary at Blue Star and the Casa Navarro State Historic Site.
