High travel expenses, increased risk of car accidents on Memorial Day weekend

PADUCAH — Millions of people will travel on Memorial Day weekend amidst high travel expenses — and the Crosbys are already seeing the impacts.

The Crosbys are set to travel from Springfield, Missouri, to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, for an upcoming cruise. According to the U.S. Travel Association, travel costs have increased by 7.8%. AAA reports the national average for gas is $4.564, and the price of gas has risen more than 50% since the war with Iran began.
