‘Unity, not division:’ Central Illinois Islamic community responds after California attack

BLOOMINGTON (25News Now) – Members of the Central Illinois Islamic community reacted to the attack on a San Diego mosque Monday.

Friday afternoon, members of the community joined worshippers at Islamic center of McLean County for their Jumu’ah prayer – a weekly service typically held around midday Fridays.

The Associated Press reported on Monday, two gunmen approached the Islamic Center of San Diego and opened fire. Security guard Amin Abdullah, center employee Mansour Kaziha and Nadir Awad were killed. The suspects died from apparent elf-inflicted gunshot wounds…
