PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — Spotty showers and cloudy skies lingering through Saturday evening with temperatures continuing to hover in the mid to upper 50s. Temperatures continue to sit around the mid-50s overnight, and we’ll see fog develop during the overnight hours as well.
Sunday starts with cloudy skies and fog. Temperatures start in the mid-50s and a warm front will gradually start to lift northward, which will help to increase our temperatures. Spotty showers are possible throughout the day, but the better chance for rain/storms comes in the late afternoon and evening hours. The chance for scattered storms is 50%. If the warm front is finally able to make its way fully through the Triad, afternoon highs should reach the mid-70s.
Monday will be similar but also warmer. We’ll be in an environment full of moisture for the first half of the week, which means pinpointing the exact timing of showers and storms is going to be harder. Spotty showers will be possible through the day with the better chances for scattered storms arriving when we near peak daytime heating (late afternoon and evening).
