MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. (WALA) – Jefferson Shredding and Recycling, LLC is investing $22.4 million in a co-location project at Outokumpu’s Calvert facility, a move expected to create 15 new jobs in Mobile County.
The company plans to install and operate a metal shredder that will process large pieces of scrap metal into smaller pieces for remelting and recycling. Jefferson Shredding estimates about 9,000 tons of scrap metal will be recycled each month — roughly 108,000 tons annually.
