Medina school board looks to schedule quarterly public work sessions

MEDINA, Ohio – In an effort to make sure board members have the opportunity to discuss important district topics with administration, Superintendent Aaron Sable has suggested the implementation of quarterly work sessions.

“This has come up in communication with several board members that there is a need for increased conversation on district topics,” Sable said. “Our formal board meetings are sometimes a difficult place to have these conversations because we have a business agenda that we need to get through, so I am throwing out the idea of instituting work sessions throughout the course of the year. These meetings would be open to the public, but when we have had them in the past, it is rare for members of the public to attend as these are more informal conversations and don’t include any presentations.”

Sable said he would ask board members to contact either him or Treasurer David Chambers to communicate topics they would like to discuss at these work sessions…
