Fire Threat, Gusty Winds Expected

Elevated fire weather conditions are expected across the Sacramento Valley and Northern Central Valley, continuing from tonight through Wednesday. Gusty southwesterly winds and low humidity will persist through Monday, with the strongest gusts reaching 30 to 40 miles per hour in the Sierra, Shasta County, and parts of the northern Sacramento Valley on Monday. Winds will then shift to the north, bringing elevated fire weather conditions for Tuesday and Wednesday in the Valley.

Temperatures will generally be warm, with highs climbing into the upper 80s and low 90s today and Monday, which is warmer than normal for this time of year. Cooler temperatures are expected starting Tuesday, with highs in the mid-70s across the area.
