Drivers flying through a New York State Thruway work zone on Friday, May 22nd quickly discovered some of the “construction workers” standing near the I90 were actually undercover state troopers watching every move they made.
By the end of the eight-hour enforcement crackdown, New York State Police had issued 94 traffic tickets during a major “Operation Hard Hat” detail targeting dangerous driving behaviors inside an active highway construction zone.
