Loveland police hosting meeting on counterfeit money problems

DENVER (KDVR) — A community meeting will be held after counterfeit bills circulating around Loveland have caused issues for businesses and residents, the Loveland Police Department warned the community on X on Tuesday morning.

The Loveland police chief organized a meeting to help the community gain a better understanding.

The community meeting will be held at the Loveland Police Department Institute at 810 E 10th Street on June 3 at 5:30 p.m., doors open at 5 p.m.

Attendees will learn information about counterfeit currency, including:

  • How to spot counterfeit currency
  • Common fraud trends impacting local businesses
  • What to do if you are given counterfeit money
  • How to correctly report the problem and investigation steps
