A single vehicle crash in Rist Canyon Monday night claimed the life of a Loveland man. The Loveland Reporter Herald reports it happened at about 10 p.m. Monday along Whale Rock Road just west of Hernia Hill Trail. A 36-year-old man and sole occupant of a Chevy Silverado was driving west along Whale Rock Road when, while going along a curve to the left, the front left wheel went off the road and the vehicle rolled down a steep embankment. He added the vehicle rolled no less than 2 3/4 times before landing at the bottom of the embankment on the passenger side. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle.
