Woman’s alleged $8,400 St. Lucie County bank withdrawal scheme foiled

ST. LUCIE COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — A Hialeah woman faces multiple felony charges after investigators say she tried to withdraw $8,400 from a St. Lucie County bank using a stolen identity.

According to the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a banking institution around 3:51 p.m. on Friday after receiving reports of a woman attempting to make a fraudulent withdrawal.

Investigators say the suspect entered the bank and filled out a withdrawal slip requesting $8,400, signing the document with a fictitious name. Deputies say she then presented the form to a teller along with a U.S. passport identification card that displayed her photograph, but belonged to another person…
