Broward County launches $12.7 million project to raise Sheridan Street bridge

Broward County, Florida – A two-foot lift may not sound dramatic, but on Sheridan Street, it could prevent costly crashes and dangerous traffic disruptions for years to come.

Broward County began work Monday, August 3, on a major bridge project designed to create more space above Florida’s Turnpike and make travel safer on two heavily used roadways.

The $12.7 million Sheridan Street Bridge Improvement Project is being managed by the County’s Highway and Bridge Maintenance Division in partnership with contractor Structural Technologies. Construction is expected to continue through spring 2027…
