A giant alligator wandering near Coconut Creek High School in South Florida could have caused chaos, but police and wildlife officials safely relocated the roughly 10-foot reptile before anyone was hurt.
The Coconut Creek Police Department later described the incident after the animal turned up along a canal beside the school, according to Local 10 News.

Police estimated the alligator at roughly 10 feet and more than 300 pounds. They found it near Coconut Creek Parkway and Lyons Road, next to Coconut Creek High School.
No injuries were reported. Police said the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission helped relocate the gator on the night of Aug. 7, and it was later taken to Everglades Holiday Park.
