A Florida mother has accused Fort Lauderdale police of failing to protect her 19-year-old daughter before she was fatally shot near an Airbnb in May 2025.
Alacia Ford-Barron said videos she shared show Myrah Zeigler asking officers for help shortly before the shooting, but one officer, who appeared to offer to accompany her, did not follow through.
“My daughter was scared,” said Ford-Barron. “She knew she was in danger. No one listened to her. They neglected my baby.”
