Fort Lauderdale bridge repairs will bring months of lane shifts and sidewalk detours to South Andrews Avenue

Broward County, Florida – Drivers and pedestrians using South Andrews Avenue in Fort Lauderdale will soon see a long-planned construction effort take shape as Broward County moves forward with bridge repairs between Davie Boulevard and Southwest 11th Street.

The work, funded through gas-tax dollars, is set to begin Monday, April 13, and, unless weather or unexpected site conditions interfere, is expected to continue through August 2026.

County officials say the project is designed to strengthen and refresh a heavily used stretch of roadway and bridge infrastructure.

The improvements will include replacing the concrete bridge barrier walls, rebuilding sections of sidewalk, and completing milling and resurfacing work along the corridor…
