North Lauderdale woman arrested on fraud charges

ST. LUCIE COUNTY — St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division, assisting the Broward County Sheriff’s Office, arrested a North Lauderdale woman on April 24 on charges of organized scheme to defraud and grand theft.

JerQuasha Josephine-De’Ma Brown, 23, of North Lauderdale was arrested after investigators uncovered a scheme to defraud in which the suspect deceived elderly victims by claiming to be working with the FBI, according to a Facebook posting by the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office.

The suspect told victims that she was investigating bank tellers and managers who were allegedly stealing money from their financial institutions, according to the sheriff’s office posting…
