Barber Busted. Claims He “Buys In Bulk” Because Drugs Are Cheaper In Bulk.
Alexander Gonzalez, who lives in the 18000 block of 181st Circle South, had been on PBSO’s radar for weeks. According to a probable cause affidavit, detectives opened the investigation on May 8 after Gonzalez was tied to an earlier case involving a large quantity of marijuana and an incident in which he fled law enforcement. Surveillance showed him repeatedly visiting a unit at Mission Bay Self Storage, and on May 9 a traffic stop on a vehicle leaving his home turned up 4.5 grams of cocaine. The buyer later told detectives in a sworn statement that the cocaine had been purchased from “Alex G.”
An investigative trash pull on May 12 produced baggies, marijuana, grinders, mushroom gummies, a scale cover, and an unknown pill. A narcotics K-9 then alerted to Gonzalez’s storage unit on May 14, and a search warrant was executed four days later. Inside the home, agents found 141 grams of marijuana, 11.5 grams of suspected meth, psilocybin, vials of testosterone and anabolic steroids, and $1,862 in cash. The storage unit yielded another 25.5 grams of methamphetamine, dozens of prescription pills including Xanax, ecstasy, hydrocodone and clonazepam, 26 THC vapes, and a scale and gallon-sized bag both coated in cocaine residue. Gonzalez’s car added roughly 35.5 grams of cocaine stashed across the center console, cup holder, and a hidden compartment, plus 667 grams of marijuana behind the passenger seat and 9 grams of suspected ketamine.
Gonzalez was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on two trafficking counts, two charges of delivering a Schedule I controlled substance, and a stack of possession and paraphernalia charges. He told detectives after his Miranda warning that everything was for personal use and that he buys in bulk because it is cheaper, insisting he does not sell to anyone…
