A note taped to the door at Pizzeria Di Biscardi bore the news.
“We are sadden(ed) to announce our closure due to major medical situation,” it read.
Luigi and Vivian Biscardi owned and ran the cozy restaurant at 1254 Metro Parkway in Fort Myers. It took over the spot previously occupied by Parkway Pizza a few years ago.
“We were very happy to serve our community,” the sign continued.
Di Biscardi’s was one of our favorite pizza places. It landed on JLB’s list of best pizza joints and as one of the couples-owned restaurants we love in 2023.
And it was not just the pies made with the freshest of fresh meats and veggies that made it special. It was Luigi and Vivian.
On our first called-in order, Luigi himself answered, complimenting us on our feeble attempt at Italian and our pizza selection.
Entering their restaurant was like being invited into their home as you immediately felt like family.
Luigi made his pizza with “passion and love,” and Vivian proudly presented it to you with a fresh bouquet of basil in the center.
