Tape grass decreased, how it affects water quality in Fort Myers

Tape grass in the Caloosahatchee River just isn’t what it used to be.

Decades ago, it was so thick in the upper river that Rick Bartleson’s uncle had to use his boat propellor to create a pathway through the thick grasses just to get his boat off the dock so they could fish.
