SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) – Tens of thousands of residents in northwest Indiana and south Michigan are still without power after a night of severe storms thunderstorms and tornadoes.
Indiana Michigan Power reported 43,800 customers are without power as of Friday morning, down from the peak of 62,000 customers. Midwest Energy and Communications reported about 8,300 of its customers are also without power.
IMP said they need to assess damage before giving estimated power restoration times in South Bend and Elkhart areas. The company said they expect power to be restored in Fort Wayne, Benton Harbor and Buchanan by 11 p.m. Friday…
