First Alert Forecast: Cooler week ahead. Tracking a few chances for rain, storms.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – A wet start to the weekend gives way to a pleasant Monday before another round of storms moves in mid-week, bringing the potential for over an inch of rain.

SHOWERS SUNDAY, CALM MONDAY

Sunday will be mostly cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms expected into the early afternoon. Temperatures will reach the low 70s, so you may want to keep an umbrella handy for your morning plans. Monday looks like a nice break in the weather. It’ll be mostly sunny with highs around 74 degrees. This is a great day to catch up on outdoor tasks or enjoy some time outside, especially since the humidity will be low.

RAIN SHOWERS RETURNING

On Tuesday, we start he day dry, but a few scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are possible later in the day. Then, Wednesday brings another round of rain and thunderstorms. Especially late Wednesday, a few strong to severe thunderstorms are possible, as well as heavy rain into Thursday morning, with as much as 1″ of rain possible. Then, the scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will continue into Thursday, but right not it’s not a day we are expecting severe weather. High temperatures each day in the afternoon will be in the mid 70s.
