Fort Wayne advocate proposes Addie’s Law to close loophole in parental rights

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – Sydney Kent has spent years advocating for vulnerable children as a foster parent and a Court-Appointed Special Advocate (CASA). But her latest legislative push is deeply personal.

Kent is leading a grassroots effort to introduce “Addie’s Law,” a proposed state measure aimed at giving protective parents a legal pathway to challenge the parental rights of individuals convicted of serious crimes.
