Fort Wayne kicks off annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — Hundreds of people gathered to participate in an annual walk to raise money for Alzheimer’s research and support those living with the disease, as well as their caregivers.

On Saturday, participants gathered at Parkview Field to take part in the 2026 Walk to End Alzheimer’s. The event, hosted by the Alzheimer’s Association, is held in hundreds of communities across the country, including Fort Wayne.

The walk began with an opening ceremony at the baseball field, where walkers and other attendees collected a Promise Flower to represent how the disease has affected them, whether by fighting it or losing a loved one. Walkers then had a choice of a one- or two-mile route to take…
