Take a look inside six Fort Worth restaurants we’ve visited this year

Since January, our Inside Look series has given Star-Telegram readers a behind-the-scenes peek at six new Fort Worth-area restaurants — from Asian fusion cafes drawing two-hour lines, to a brand-new steakhouse honoring Teddy Roosevelt.

Here’s a quick tour of where we’ve been eating.

Sweet Stacks (Magnolia Avenue): This Asian fusion cafe opened at the end of December in the former Vice Burger space and is drawing lines up to two hours long for its souffle pancakes, which take 30 minutes to make. Chef and owner Mina Sourignavong also serves Thai stir-fries and matcha lattes.

Shōgun Taqueria (Near Southside): Francisco “Paco” Islas reinvented his former Paco’s Mexican Cuisine into an Asian-Mexican fusion spot serving ramen-ritos, birria quesatacos and chicken tinga dumplings. A hidden door leads to Secreto Speakeasy next door…
