FORT WORTH, Texas — One Fort Worth fire station is adopting a new member to their family, a homeless dog named Jake, who was left at their station over the weekend.
In a social media post, the station members say, “Early on the morning of May 16th, one of the crew members at Station 8 heard a dog whining outside his bedroom window. A few of us went out to investigate and found a dog chained to our flagpole. There was a water bottle nearby with a note inside.”
The note was left by a homeless United States veteran who was looking for someone to care for Jake. In the note, the veteran stated he could no longer care for the pup if he planned to get the help he needed to better his own life…
