Standing room only
As June comes to an end here in Alameda, my campaign for mayor is starting to gain steam. I have started getting my campaign signs delivered, and they are showing up in supporters’ yards. Special thanks to Beverly Chan Woo for being the first person to display my sign. If you would like a MOUF FOR MAYOR sign, I am asking folks to make a $25 donation to the FAAS Starfish Fund which provides money to cover emergency medical services for all the animals at the shelter. In my continuing coverage of the failed animal shelter building and exactly how inefficient it is, my HC visited the shelter to assist with laundry and found the lobby area full of people waiting to do business. Keep in mind this was a weekday. There is no room for chairs in this tiny space. Imagine what this lobby is like on the weekend.
The shelter also serves as a drop-off for pet supplies and equipment that is free to residents. Unfortunately, there is no storage space and these donations are being stored outside in the parking lot.
To the City of Alameda: WE NEED A NEW LARGER BUILDING.
