(KRON) — The Newark Police Department conducted a multi-agency operation aimed at identifying and targeting child sex predators that led to three arrests. The operation was conducted on Tuesday, leading to the arrest of three men who traveled to the City of Newark seeking to engage in sexual acts with minors, police said.

The men were identified as:
- Jin Wang, 63, of Fremont
- Anish Nishchal Dutt, 48, of San Leandro
- Martin Benjamin Capati, 31, of Mountain View
Each of the men was taken into custody after communicating online with an undercover office posing as a minor and subsequently traveling for the purpose of meeting to engage in unlawful sexual activity, police said.
“This operation underscores the Newark Police Department’s ongoing commitment to protect children and proactively identifying individuals who seek to exploit minors,” Newark PD said. “Efforts such as these are especially important during Sexual Assault Awareness Month, as we continue to raise awareness and strengthen prevention and enforcement efforts within our community.”
Newark PD said it conducted the multi-agency operation in collaboration with:
- Fremont Police Department
- Menlo Park Police Department
- Union City Police Department
- Southern Alameda County Major Crimes Task Force
- Northern California Regional Intelligence Center (NCRIC)
