FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A suspect was arrested on Tuesday for slamming a pregnant woman against a Fresno sidewalk and strangling her, according to the Fresno Police Department.
Suspect 54-year-old Wayne Metley was arrested and has multiple charges of assault with a deadly weapon with a non-firearm, child abuse and more, according to jail records.
Officials say Fresno Police and CHP responded to a call in Downtown Fresno on Tuesday, where witnesses say they saw a man assaulting a woman.
Police say the witnesses said they saw the suspect on top of the victim, strangling her and slamming her into the sidewalk. Then witnesses pulled the suspect off the victim, and he walked away…
