FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Former Fresno Police Chief Ed Winchester has died, Fresno Mayor Jerry Dyer announced Wednesday
“I am deeply saddened by the loss of Former Police Chief Ed Winchester,” Dyer said in a statement on Facebook.
Dyer also said Winchester was tough on crime but had a heart of gold and credited him as the driving force behind the dramatic violent crime reductions Fresno experienced in the mid 1990’s.
