As the buyer was on her way to Stockton, the seller notified her of a “conflict” that required the transaction to be done through a cash app. Once the money was sent, the seller said they would leave the Stanleys at a specific address.

The buyer agreed to the terms and sent the money. However, when she arrived at the agreed-upon location, “no one knew what she was talking about,” police said.

“[The situation] is currently being investigated by our detectives. The total amount the victim lost to this scam was $160.00,” the Fresno Police Department said.
