A new gaming lounge packed with more than 40 high-end PCs has opened its doors in Plano, bringing console stations, a dedicated trading card game area, and a private six-station esports room to the Chase Oaks area of East Plano. Surge Esports opened at 280 Legacy Dr., Suite 100, giving local gamers a walk-in spot for casual play alongside a growing slate of tournaments and community events.
The venue’s public debut came together with a community grand opening block party held from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. on August 21, according to Plano Magazine. As reported by Texas is Life, the lounge bills itself as a premium gaming and esports venue offering everything from casual multiplayer titles and fighting games to competitive esports and sports titles, all accessible on a pay-by-the-hour or all-day-pass basis without requiring a membership.
For regulars, Surge Esports also sells structured monthly memberships, including a top-tier Surge Elite plan priced at $79.99 per month, or $69.99 during launch promotions, that bundles in 12 included PC gaming hours, 30 percent off hourly play rates, tournament discounts, and 20 percent off concessions and trading card products. The station’s report notes those plans are pitched at frequent visitors, while walk-in hourly play remains open to anyone who just wants to drop in.
Card Game Tournaments Already Underway
The lounge wasted no time building a competitive footprint. Just one day after its grand opening, Surge Esports hosted a 32-player, $20-entry Swiss-style Pokémon Trading Card Game tournament on August 22, per the same account.
