The Mesquite Natatorium, a modern aquatic facility, will open to the public on February 12, 2024. This facility is a collaboration between the City of Mesquite, Mesquite ISD, and Dallas College – Eastfield Campus. The project’s opening was marked on February 9, with representatives from all involved institutions present. The Natatorium, previously the aquatic center of Dallas College Eastfield Campus, has been enlarged and improved to serve the wider community.

Mesquite ISD Superintendent Dr. Ángel Rivera expressed satisfaction in providing the facility to students and the community, expecting it to benefit the community. Mayor Daniel Alemán, Jr. also shared his enthusiasm about the new facility, emphasizing the significance of the partnerships that enabled the project, particularly in a time when many cities are shutting public pools due to budget and staffing constraints.

The Mesquite Natatorium has several notable features such as a wider pool, two diving boards, eight 25-yard swim lanes, six 25-meter swim lanes, and a pool depth varying from 3.6 feet to 12.5 feet. It also has new tile, an updated pool finish, a competition-ready Myrtha gutter system, and a unique OpenAire aluminum structure.
