The price tag attached to Toyota Stadium is climbing. Already in the middle of a sweeping $182 million transformation, the Frisco stadium is now set for another $9.26 million in upgrades after the Frisco City Council approved additional funding during its April 21 meeting.
The new work focuses on two less glamorous, but highly visible, parts of the stadium experience: repairs to the seating bowl and restoration of the stadium’s Wi-Fi system.
What The Extra Funding Covers
According to city documents, seating bowl remediation accounts for the bulk of the added cost at roughly $7.5 million, while Wi-Fi restoration is expected to total about $1.75 million.
The costs are split between public funding and Frisco Stadium LLC under an agreement tied to the larger renovation project approved last year. The public share is estimated at just over $5.4 million, while Frisco Stadium LLC will cover about $3.8 million…
