On July 28, Allen Lawrence Leroy, 34, was convicted of possessing a firearm as a convicted felon, domestic battery, resisting an officer without violence, smuggling contraband into a detention facility and failing to appear.
Facing up to 27 years in prison, Leroy took a no-contest plea deal that was accepted by Judge James Colaw, in which he was sentenced to two years in prison followed by three years of probation. Court documents indicate the victim agreed to the plea deal. As part of the plea agreement, prosecutors dropped an additional charge Leroy was facing for possessing a firearm as an out-of-state felon.
On September 24, 2025, Leroy screamed at the victim before reportedly strangling her several times, impeding her breathing. He was initially charged with domestic battery by strangulation but prosecutors later downgraded the charge to a misdemeanor. Leroy went on to slam the victim onto the ground.
