West Side Grand Rapids Favorite to Expand
If you know the name, you probably know the original Fratelli’s on Bridge Street in Grand Rapids. Owners Vincenzo “Enzo” Cannizzo and Maria Cannizzo first opened the restaurant back in 2009, and it quickly became a West Side staple for late-night pizza by the slice.
In 2019, the shop closed briefly for a remodel. The rebuild turned Fratelli’s from a simple slice shop into a two-part concept. The original pizzeria stayed, but next door they built out Fratelli’s Italian Kitchen & Bar, a full sit-down restaurant designed around family recipes Maria brought with her from Italy, plus a more modern “new Italian” approach with richer sauces and updated takes on classics…
