Grand Rapids addresses ongoing amphitheater noise concerns

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — City officials released another statement Thursday addressing residents’ concerns over excessive noise levels coming from Acrisure Amphitheater just hours before a Darius Rucker concert was set to take the stage.

Since the amphitheater’s opening in May, News 8 received multiple reports of sound carrying from the venue over long distances, including during last week’s Machine Gun Kelly concert.

“There have been numerous, numerous emails I have received and have been made aware of, and even last night continue to receive those,” said First Ward City Commissioner Alicia Marie Belchak at a June 16 meeting following nearly back-to-back performances by Jelly Roll and Santana.
