Holland children ejected in ‘road rage’ rollover crash on US-31

GRAND HAVEN TWP. — Two children were ejected in a rollover crash on US-31 that began, police said, with “aggressive” road rage driving.

The crash took place shortly before 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 4, near Fillmore Street in Grand Haven Township. Deputies from the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office responded.

Upon arrival, they learned, based on observations and witness statements, the two involved vehicles were traveling south when they engaged in aggressive “road rage” driving, according to a release. Both lost control of their vehicles, which left the roadway.

The first car, a Cadillac sedan driven by a 54-year-old West Olive man, came to rest in the center median. The driver and his passenger suffered minor injuries that didn’t require on-scene treatment.

The second car, a Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by a 29-year-old Holland Township woman, rolled several times across the median and came to rest in the northbound lanes of US-31. She and her 30-year-old passenger, also of Holland Township, suffered minor injuries and were transported to Spectrum Hospital in Grand Rapids.
